2015 — Hectare Agritech & SellMyLivestock
Hectare Agritech was founded in 2015 when schoolfriends Jamie McInnes, founder and CEO, and Dan Luff, a beef farmer in Hampshire, spotted a need for direct farmer-to-farmer trading in the livestock industry. 2016 — Graindex
In 2016 arable farmer Andrew Huxham joined the founding team to launch Graindex, an online grain trading platform, for farmers to connect with a network of verified buyers. Graindex became the UK’s #1 crop marketplace, offering easily accessible market opportunities for both buyers and farmers.
2023 — Hectare Trading
In 2023 Graindex was relaunched as Hectare Trading, offering new digital features, as well as localised market insights to make it easier than ever to trade with confidence.
