London feed wheat for May 2025 rose yesterday to £167.65, up 1.6% from last week's closing price of £165.00. Despite the U.S. "World Tariff Day" on Wednesday and sterling's gains against the dollar, wheat prices have been supported by news from Australia, the world's third-largest wheat exporter, projecting a 16% decline in 2025/26 production due to severe dry weather. The carry to July 2025 narrowed to £7.35.
On Hectare Trading, feed wheat received offers up to £190 in the Scottish Borders for April 2025 movement, with a bid spread of £18/t (the bid spread is the difference between the minimum and maximum price offers). Group 1 wheat saw price offers of £180 in the East of England for April 2025 movement, with a bid spread of £9/t, new crop Group 3 wheat achieved offers of £200 in the East of England for December 2025 movement, and Group 4 (Soft) wheat saw price offers of £190 in the East of England for April 2025 movement.
Paris milling wheat for May 2025 rose to £186.50 (€221.00), up 1.0% from last week's closing price of £184.60 (€218.75). The carry to December 2025 narrowed to £2.95.
Paris rapeseed for May 2025 fell to £436.50 (€517.25), down 1.6% from last week's closing price of £443.46 (€525.50). Paris rapeseed for August 2025 fell to £405.70 (€480.75), down 1.3% from last week's closing price of £411.18 (€487.25). This follows the aftermath of U.S. tariffs, which have pressured crude oil prices and weakened the dollar. The resulting strength of the euro against the dollar, along with lower crude oil prices, has weighed on Paris rapeseed, given its significant use in biodiesel production. The carry to November 2025 widened to £1.69.
On Hectare Trading, oilseed rape received offers of £428 in West Midlands for April 2025 movement.
Elsewhere on Hectare Trading, milling oats saw price offers up to £171 in North East Scotland for April 2025 movement, with a bid spread of £3/t.
